The Sweet Kernels of Summer

Labor Day may have passed but our fresh sweet corn still tastes like summer! Really, is there anything better than corn on the cob with butter, salt and pepper? Sure, you could put corn in soups, salads, casseroles or just leave it alone as a side dish; there really isn’t any bad way to eat it. And if you’re like us, you’ll want to freeze some for a taste of summer in the dead of winter. Either way, come on down to the Falls Park Farmers Market this Saturday and stock up! We’re including a fun recipe for Zesty Corn on the Cob below.

Need more reasons to come downtown this Saturday? The Sidewalk Arts Festival will be happening around the Washington Pavilion from 9 to 5 and GermanFest will be kicking off in Falls Park West at 1, just the Farmers Market is shutting down.

This Saturday the market will also be brimming with tomatoes, beets, potatoes, beans, onions, carrots, turnips, kohlrabi, summer squash and so much more. As always we’ll have fresh coffee, tea, pizza, pasta, breads, baked goodies, meats and so much more!

See you on Saturday!
