It was never meant to travel – its vibrant green color reduced to a sad pale green and hints of brown, pre-shredded and pre-treated, shipped from a million miles away until it finally arrives at grocery stores. No more! It’s time to enjoy this versatile veggie the right way – local! And you can get the freshest lettuce in town at the Falls Park Farmers Market this Saturday!

Whether you put a leaf on a sandwich, shred it on a burger, or tear it up for salads, the crisp texture and fresh flavor of lettuce makes for an excellent addition to your summertime meals.

But we don’t stop at lettuce. You can also get your asparagus, radishes, turnips, cucumbers, kale and plenty more. And don’t forget about our pastas, coffee, baked goods… there’s just too many good things to list!

So lettuce help you stock up on all of your favorite veggies, plants and goodies. We’ll take that challenge head on. Leaf it to us. Ok we’re done. See you this Saturday!

Asparagus is usually available during May and June. Fresh asparagus is a good source of anti-oxidants and is rich in folates, and Vitamins C, A and E!

Cucumbers can be sliced or pickled and are freshly delicious either way. Half a cup of sliced cucumber contains more than 10% of the vitamin K recommended per day!

Spinach is usually available in May and throughout the summer. It is known as one of the world’s healthiest foods! It is packed full of nutrients and protein!
